"I try not to have a 'sound' as much as I just try to sound right for each particular project. I rely on my instincts and experience a lot, getting the right feel, mood and approach for each record. Sometimes that can involve a good deal of mystery and discovery. I find those can be some of the more rewarding experiences - when you let the music be your guide, just go with your gut and find yourself in this new place that you never expected."
