Today I felt kinda sick as I heard the news that Bush Veto'd the S-CHIP (children's health care program). 35 Billion dollars over 5 years to give all children in the US who are sick, injured or worse - health insurance. At the same time, Bush asked for and got from a congress I have less hope for each day,  190 Billion dollars for 3 months of his continued and needless occupation and destruction of a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, nothing to do with WMD, nothing to do with freedom and everything to do with putting taxpayer money into the pockets of corporations like Haliburton and giving Bush & co. the backdrop with which to advance their expansion of executive power and destruction of our constitition.

This is on Bush's bloody hands. And to use the lame excuse that people who make over $80k a year would take advantage of this program is to insult anyone who keeps tabs on the HUMONGOUS tab that George Bush has driven up for this country and MY children. As a taxpayer, I would much rather have some of my money WASTED  on healing children than killing them.

He makes me sick. Today we find out that at the same time the administration declared torture to be "abhorrent" and something "we don't do", they secretly advanced the use of torture well past the line that anyone would say defines that word. They say one thing and do the opposite. LIES, LIES, LIES. Been happening since he campaigned as a "compassionate conservative"  - a term that he is anything but. I'm just so fed up. It's been six years of some kind of alternate reality. This is a dark road we're on. I hope we see the remnants of our great country in the rearview mirror soon enough for someone in the car to stop and ask for directions.
